International Schools Award: The DCSF International School Award is an accreditation scheme for curriculum-based international work in schools. The scheme provides recognition for teachers and their schools working to instill a global dimension into the learning experience of all children and young people.

  The Graduate: an on-line educational quiz for primary and post primary students throughout Ireland . The quiz encourages students to develop an understanding of how various public institutions work, how they interact with young people and how they impact upon their everyday lives, as well as developing their Internet and computer skills.

Young Translator's Contest: Learners from EU member states can try their hand at translation in this competition aimed at students aged 16. Schools are invited to register between 1 September and 20 October with the contest taking place simultaneously in all Member States on 27 November 2008.

Languages from the Cradle: an EU funded project to collect the lullabies of Europe . Schools can get involved by registering on the site and then contributing to the project which aims to promote the learning of languages across Europe.

  The Laftas: an annual competition organised by CILT, the National Centre for Languages. Students are requirde to make a short video film – no more than two minutes – on the benefits of speaking another language (or the dangers of remaining monolingual!)

European Youth Parliament: one of the largest European platforms for political debate, intercultural encounters , political educational work and the exchange of ideas among young people in Europe .
